General Information:

The Rules of Golf as adopted by the United States Golf Association govern play. This information sheet, the CSGA Hard Card and any site-specific Local Rules and Conditions of Competition sheets are supplements to the Rules of Golf.  Local Rules of the host course do not apply.

 

Schedule of Events:

Monday May 13, 2024 – Qualifying Round (18 holes of stroke play)

 

Qualifying Positions:

The number of players advancing to the 122nd Connecticut Amateur will be released on the morning of the qualifier.

 

Grouping & Starting Times:

Starting times will begin at 8:00am from the first tee.

 

Practice Round:

Practice rounds are available on April 22,23,25,29,30, and May 6,7 After 1:00PM. April 28, May 5,11 after 2:00PM. Practice rounds will cost $50 CASH ONLY cart included. The practice facility will not be open on practice round days. To schedule a practice round, please call the Shuttle Meadow Golf Shoppe with your full name, cell number, and time you would like to play. You can reach the Golf Shoppe at (860) 229-6000.

 

Course Setup:

Shuttle Meadow CC will play to a par 71 at approximately 6,500 yards with a time of 4 hours and 30 minutes.

 

Registration:

Players must check in at the player registration table located in front of the golf shop upon their arrival.

 

Practice Range:

The practice range will be available to players courtesy of the CSGA. Please allow for extra travel time between the driving range and first tee.

 

Caddies:

A player may carry his own bag or employ a caddie. Players are responsible any fee incurred for the use of a caddie. Players are entitled to employ a caddie and use a golf cart with the only restriction being that of the cart limitation outlined in the “Golf Carts” section of this notice.

 

Golf Carts:

The use of a cart is permitted but not included in your entry fee. Each starting time is limited to one cart per twosome or two carts per threesome. Players can pay for a cart in the Golf Shoppe.

 

Attire:

Proper golf attire is required at all times by players, caddies and spectators. Shorts must be Bermuda length. Shirts must have a collar and be tucked in. Jeans of all kinds, cargo pants/shorts, tee shirts and tank tops are prohibited.  Hats must be worn in a traditional manner.

 

Footwear:

Rule 4.3a is modified in this way: During a round, a player must not wear shoes with traditional spikes (that is, spikes having single or multiple points designed to penetrate deeply into the surface of the ground (regardless of whether made of metal, ceramic, plastic, or other materials)) or spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal, if such metal may come in contact with the course.

 

Driver Heads & Golf Balls:

Local Rule G-1 and G-3 are in effect. A player must not make a stroke with a clubhead or golf ball that is not on the current listing of the USGA List of Conforming Driver Heads or List of Conforming Golf Balls.

Penalty for breach of this Rule is disqualification.

 

Withdrawals:

You must contact the CSGA at (860) 257-4171 if you must withdraw from this championship. A competitor who fails to notify the CSGA of his withdrawal may be subject to disciplinary actions.
